The sustainability of products can already be significantly influenced in the design and development phase. In order to make the best possible use of this potential, we at cross-ING work closely with internal experts and external partners on an interdisciplinary basis, thus ensuring the use of "latest technology" and "best practice".

Our team is focused on identifying the sustainability levers with pragmatic approaches and realising the potential.

Sustainability of products starts with design and engineering. We help you to identify the influencing factors using simple methods and to develop sustainable solutions.

Do you know the carbon footprint of your products? Using a pragmatic top-down approach and best practice methods, we determine the footprint of your products and give you recommendations on how to reduce it.

Circular Economy, how does it work?

The difficulty is to find out which options exist in the individual life cycles to reintegrate the product into the cycle in one form or another. We follow a cradle to cradle approach and use the 10R analysis to identify the options.

Our services

Knowledge is the greatest resource. Do you know who knows what and has what skills in your company? Our specially developed competence matrix tool helps you to maintain an overview, plan further education and training and thus increase the company's performance.

Reparability of products is one of the 17 overall goals defined by the UN. Manufactured products should remain in the cycle for as long as possible and thus conserve valuable resources that would be needed for replacement products.

We analyse your product in terms of reparability, based on the IFixIt method. This will provide you with valuable information on possible levers for their improvement in the case of a re-design, a new development or any other necessary technical revision.

Delight your customers; your ultimate goal or just a marketing slogan?

A user journey graphically describes the experience of using a product from the user's point of view. It is not only about technical aspects, but also about documentation, freely accessible information, customer service, spare parts, etc. The insights gained give you valuable input for design and engineering.
