Rocket Innovation from Switzerland: cross-ING Joins the PEGASUS Project as Main Partner

cross-ING is pleased to support the student space project PEGASUS by the Academic Space Initiative Switzerland (ARIS) as a main partner.

PEGASUS is an ETH Focus Project within ARIS, where students from ETH Zurich are working on the development of a Rotating Detonation Rocket Engine (RDRE). Unlike conventional combustion, RDREs generate thrust through continuous detonation waves, promising higher efficiency and an improved thrust-to-weight ratio.

The goal of the project is to develop and test a bi-liquid, actively cooled RDRE for sustained operations. With this, PEGASUS is addressing one of the most promising technologies in future space propulsion.

As an engineering partner, cross-ING contributes technical expertise while fostering the exchange between industry and the next generation of engineers. Initiatives like this demonstrate how hands-on projects enable students to develop complex technologies while gaining valuable experience in interdisciplinary teams.

We look forward to supporting the PEGASUS team on their journey and are excited to see the upcoming project milestones.
